JAGUAR XF: WITH TRADITION TOWARDS INNOVATION

THE BODY: FELINE ELEGANCE
Crouching like a wild cat ready to jump, this is the impression given by its body shape – with length and width increased by 6 cm each, but only 1 cm increase in height, the latest product of the British luxury carmaker looks more like a coupe than a saloon. However, it provides sufficient space for 5 passengers. Instead of the traditional retro style, the Jaguar XF presents a cool purist outer skin straight from the wind tunnel – with a cw value of 0.28*.

THE INTERIOR: INNOVATIVE LUXURY
Anybody who has the luck to be allowed into the latest creation of the team surrounding Jaguar design boss Ian Callum, will be impressed immediately: first by the phosphorus-blue interior lighting that is reminiscent of the ambience of a modern bar, then by the fine leather that lines almost the entire interior, by the rich oak veneer with textured aluminium trim, by the start-stop button that pulses like a heartbeat, by the automatic gear shift selector that lifts neatly and silently from the centre console . . . in short: impressed by the art of combining high-quality materials with high-tech ambience.

THE ENGINES: SPORTY PERFORMANCE
A choice of 3 petrol engines and 1 diesel engine is available. The petrol versions extend from the 3.0 l engine with 175 kW (238 hp) and the 4.2 l engine with 219 kW (298 hp) to the supercharged 4.2 S/C with 306 kW (416 hp). The diesel comes in the entry version with 2.7 litres, bi-turbo charging and 152 kW (207 hp). MAHLE components play their part in the smooth running of the engines and optimum power generation with air intake modules, camshafts, valve guides, valve seat inserts, pistons and piston pins, connecting rods, bearings as well as oil filter modules.

AUDI RS 6 AVANT
From 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 s, and after 14.9 s the 200 km/h mark is reached: the Audi RS Avant behaves like a high-performance sports car – despite its kerb weight of 2 tonnes. The 10-cylinder petrol injection engine delivers impressive 427 kW (580 hp) thanks to bi-turbo charging – with a maximum torque of 650 Nm. MAHLE contributes to the concentrated power of this four-wheel drive powerhouse with pistons, piston rings, piston pins and connecting rods. Also on board of the super estate: MAHLE air intake modules, oil filters and carbon canisters.

FIAT LINEA
A wheelbase of 2.6 m, an overall length of 4.56 m – the Fiat Linea, based on the Grande Punto, is currently the largest among the compact hatchbacks – and one of the best. A jury made up of 15 European motor sport journalists awarded the family car, already launched in 2007, with the “Autobest 2008” – for design, comfort, economic efficiency, price-performance ratio and drivability. The contributions from MAHLE to these attributes: bearings, valve guides, valve seat inserts and oil mist separators.

RENAULT KANGOO
Equipped with oil filter modules, air filters, carbon canisters, valve seat inserts, connecting rods and bearings from MAHLE, the new economical petrol and diesel engines from 50 kW (68 hp) to 78 kW (106 hp) of the Renault Kangoo spare the environment and the wallet of the operator. The driving comfort has also been improved as the Kangoo, originally conceived as a commercial vehicle, is now based on the Renault Scénic.

MERCEDES-BENZ ACTROS
The new model of the Mercedes-Benz Actros, which was launched on the market in 1996, sets once again standards in safety, comfort, ergonomics and economy. It has been available for order since late January; however, start of production is not before July of this year. It is available in a choice of 9 power classes from 235 kW (320 hp) to 440 kW (598 hp). The modern BlueTec engines – equipped with pistons and piston pins, connecting rods, cylinder liners, valves, valve guides, valve seat inserts as well as air filters from MAHLE – are particularly environment-friendly and economical. And MAHLE cabin filters contribute to a pleasant atmosphere in the driver’s cabin.

OPEL AGILA
The new edition of the Agila – which was launched as the sister of the Suzuki Wagon+ in 2000 – has now been designed as an independent small car by Opel. The engine range comprises two petrol engines from Suzuki (1.0 l with 3 cylinders and 48 kW (65 hp) or 1.2 l with 4 cylinders and 63 kW (86 hp)) as well as an Opel diesel engine with 1.3 l and 55 kW (75 hp). MAHLE pistons, piston pins and piston rings, valves, valve guides and valve seat inserts as well as air filters and air ducting are at work under the new exterior.

ŠKODA FABIA COMBI
4 petrol engines and 3 diesel engines from 44 kW (60 hp) to 77 kW (105 hp) make up the broad engine range of the new Škoda Fabia Combi. In its exterior appearance, it has become closer to its big brother the Škoda Roomster. The available space in the passenger area as well as in the boot has increased compared with its predecessor. This is also reflected in the hardware under the bonnet: with pistons, piston rings and piston pins, connecting rods, valves, air intake modules as well as air filters, oil filters, fuel filters and carbon canisters.

CITROËN C5
Courage to design is shown by Citroën in the new compact car C5 – with a powerful front section, large headlights and the styling of a coupe. The midrange model offers right from the start a wide engine range. The 3 petrol engines reach from 93 kW (127 hp) to 158 kW (215 hp) and the 4 diesel engines are in a power range between 81 kW (110 hp) and 153 kW (208 hp). The contribution from MAHLE: oil filter modules and oil filters, fuel filters, carbon canisters, pistons, piston rings and piston pins, cylinder liners, bearings, valve guides and valve seat inserts as well as camshafts.
