CAD Systems
In the area of product development, our basic CAD/CAM systems are CATIA and depending on the customer, Pro/ENGINEER. At MAHLE, CATIA V5 is in the introduction phase. Since different departments and product lines are at different stages of implementing CATIA V5, customers are advised to contact their project partners directly and coordinate the usage of the right release and service pack to avoid compatibility issues.
CAD data exchange
Data exchange with external partners usually takes place by means of remote data transmission according to the VDA recommendation. MAHLE also uses the OpenDXM data management system. Data are transmitted via OFTP (Odette File Transfer Protocol)/ISDN or ENX (European Network Exchange).
CAD data management
MAHLE uses SAP for managing CAD data. Direct integrations from CENIT and .riess are used to interface CATIA V5 and Pro/ENGINEER with SAP.
